Reports - Gross Sales Summary

This article is an overview of the Gross Sales Summary Report. This report details all paid invoices, less refunds and returns (returns are items like bounced checks and chargebacks).  


Requirements - A Master Admin login or a staff login with the following permissions:
  • Reporting - Can access reports
  • Reporting - Can access sales: gross sales detail




Generating and Understanding the Gross Sales Summary Report




To access your Gross Sales Summary Report go to Reports > Sales > Gross Sales Detail > Summary tab. 

To generate your Gross Sales Summary Report, select your date range or choose a preset date range. After setting your date range, choose Run Report. This report will include the following filters: 

Filter by Employee Associated with Sale - Select to view information related to a specific employee / filter out sales with associated employee

Exclude / Include / Show Only $0 Invoices - This option will allow you to Include, Exclude, or Show Only the specified Invoices within the generated report. 

Client UserID (optional) - If a UserID is entered, this will give an overview of how much revenue is associated with an individual client during the time frame selected. 

Pending Refunds Date - Select to view Refund Attempted Date or Released Date (when the refund was 100% completed). 

Show Drafted Downpayments as - If a down payment is drafted, this option allows you to set the payment to show as a Downpayment within the report. 





The results will appear on the web page listing your Gross Sales, broken down by category, that occurred during the selected date range. To view a further breakdown for a specific category, click on the title of the category within the online report.There is a separate column for percentage of gross sales by category and another column for sales tax. This report also breaks down refunds and returns to produce your Net Revenue.

Client Credit Purchased - Displays the total of Purchases for Client Credit. 

Payments - Membership, Membership Add-On, and Services are based on the package types the invoice is tied to. To learn more about these different types or to edit those please review Sales Package Types: Membership/Add-On/Services.

Products - are all retail items for sale. You may view these products and learn how to create more by reviewing How To Setup A Product.

Past Dues - are invoices that have been placed into a collections category based on your Late Pay Settings.

Payments Using Client Credit / Credit Memos - If a Client Credit or Credit Memo is used for payment. 

SUBTOTAL - Refunds & Returns - Displays the Refunds and Returns for the specified date range. 


NOTE: These totals are prior to any merchant processing fees which are charged by your merchant processor and will be on a statement/report provided by that company.


To export the data, select the floppy disk and choose your method of export: CSV (comma delimited), PDF, or Excel.
